Today I’m thrilled to be giving away Captain Freedom, a satirical novel about a disgraced superhero’s search for a new career, his true archenemy... and a girlfriend. To celebrate, we’re posting a guest blog from Carl Lennertz—VP of Sales and Editor of Captain Freedom.
Carl writes, “If you like the Onion, celebrity meltdowns, Jon Stewarts’s smackdown of Jim Cramer, or – and here’s an older reference – Mystery Science Theater 3000, you will LOVE the book, Captain Freedom! Blogger, satirist and all-around good guy Greg Robillard has written a snappy, funny, and sweetly sarcastic novel about a superhero in a mid-life crisis, a superhero fired for low sales and high steroid levels. Along the way, Greg makes fun of NPR, fad diets, the Police, Hollywood, celebs, Roswell, the OC, WMD, and more more. As the editor, I got to read this book 4x –and loved it even more each time!”
Check out G. Xavier’s blog on Powell’s, an interview with the author, video trailers, a clip of G. Xavier reading, and a fantastic review.
I will randomly select 25 winners from the entries received. No purchase necessary. The last entry will be accepted 2 days after this posting. Approximate retail value of each prize: $13.99. Estimated total prize value: $349.75. View rules here: Download Roaring-twenties-blog-sweepstakes Leave a comment below for your chance to win!
Oh my gosh, I want to read this book so badly! I watched the video trailer a bit ago and was beyond excited. Satire and superheros all in one? Count me in!
