Why hello there! Like today's F train, I've been moving at slower speeds lately. For this I blame a bad bout of summer bronchitis, which has caused me to resemble any number of cinematic and operatic consumptives (Keats in Bright Star, Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge, Mimi in La Boheme, Violetta in La Traviata, etc). I'll be writing more soon but in the meantime, please to enjoy a selection of links suitable for a waning summer attention span.
- The Family Fang gets compared to air conditioning. It's refreshing--and it's also one of the best books of 2011, right up there with Patrick deWitt's The Sisters Brothers (recently longlisted for the Man Booker).
- The Song of Achilles goes on sale in the UK next month, and Ecco is putting it out next year. One of THE most satisfying love stories I've ever read. Get ready!
- My amazing director, Virginia, will be presenting some outstanding Fall books next week on Library Journal.
- Blueberry. Maple. Cupcakes. When your kitchen cools down, make these.
- Star Trek: The Next Generation is now on Netflix Watch Instantly. 20something trekkies are coming out of the closet and will enjoy these two tumblrs: Fashion it So and Spock Is Not Impressed.
- Can I...borrow that broomstick?
- Is there anything better than an eye-arresting book cover? Try some ear-arresting musical covers on Cover Me.
- Finally, every book you should read before your 30th birthday. I know entry-level employment rates are way down, but do we really have that much free time?
::cough cough:: Happy clicking!

Je ne peux pas croire combien de cela, je n'étais pas au courant. Merci d'avoir plus d'informations à ce sujet pour moi. Je suis vraiment reconnaissant et vraiment impressionné.
